The Ecological Park “Ojos Indígenas” is a hidden treasure at Punta Cana. With more than 1000 protected hectares, belongs to the Ecological Foundation Punta Cana. It is a special corner for ecotourism.

The name of “Ojos de los Indígenas” is due to the Tainas Indians who gave it the name by the form so characteristic of their lakes.

Do not forget to carry a repellent, sneakers, sunscreen, a good bottle of water, light clothes, and your swimsuit.

A perfect excursion to make it with friends, couple or family

The journey from the entrance of the park of indigenous eyes to the first lagoon enabled for bathers is about 10 or 15 minutes and It’s through a forest road. So do not panic if you arrive to find some animals remember that it is you who invades their habitat. Be very careful with the roots of the trees and the stones.

Once you arrive at one of the lagoons enabled for bathers, there is a pier where you can put your things while you take a dip in with fishes, ducks, and turtles. It’s a beautiful place for snorkelers and nature lovers in general.

I confess that I personally do not tend to be a girl of nature. Mainly because when it comes to animals that crawl, float or fly, I am quite a fear and It’s something that I cannot avoid. In spite of all this, I spent it very well. It is always interesting to hear the sounds of nature and get away a bit from the bustling city. That peace that you can only find in places like these.
